Hi! It's me again. There is plenty to do after school hours, particularly sport which I enjoy most. I love many sports but best of all football. Almost all my friends are in our football team. We train hard and we often play for the school in various regional youth tournaments. Our coach has taught us all rigid rules which must be strictly observed. The last game we played ended in a draw - 3:3. And though we know the famous Olympic quotation "The most important thing is not to win, but to take part", we all want to win some day.
I do sport every day. After school on Mondays I go running with my friends for about an hour. Then I go to the swimming pool. Swimming is an excellent way to keep fit. It makes your legs and body strong.
Pete, the greatest footballer of all time, is my idol in football.

Future in the Past.
If the verb in the Main Clause is in the Past, the verbs in the Subordinate Clause must be in Future in the Past. The auxiliary verbs "should" and "would" are used to form Future in the Past. "Should" replaces "shall" and "would" replaces "will".
Examples:
He knows that I shall come here again tomorrow. He knew that I should come here again the next day.
She promises they will finish the work soon. She promised they would finish the work soon.
Exercise II. Change the following sentences by using Future in the Past. Instead of "He knows that I shall come here again tomorrow", say "He knew that I should come here again the next day."
He says that we shall meet tomorrow.
The teacher of Botany says that our class will go to the greenhouse.
John says that he will invite us to celebrate his birthday.
He promises that the work will be finished in two days.
My sister says that she will not spend much money on sweets.

Nick: Well, I'm glad to hear that. As to our work at the lesson ... nothing unusual. We practiced talking English.
Aidar. It's really wonderful! And what about homework?
Nick: Homework? The teacher said that we should write a dictation. Besides she told us that we should be ready to talk over the story "The Lamb and the Wolf.
Aidar Oh, that's okay. See you tomorrow.
