OKM4220, Basis of computer modeling, 3 credits
Prerequisites: "Probability theory and mathematical statistics", "The mathematical analysis",
"Mathematical fundamentals of informatics"
Studying purpose: The purpose of teaching discipline "Bases computer modeling" is development
of the theory, methods and technology of modeling in case of research, designing and use of
computer systems of information processing and management (CSIPM).
Summary: Modeling of random numbers. Modeling of accidental events. Modeling of continuous
random variables. Modeling of special continuous distributions. Modeling of discrete random
variables. Modeling of multidimensional random variables with analytically and nonconventionally
set distribution laws. Modeling of multidimensional random variables according to accidental
characteristics. Modeling of accidental processes. Modeling of ordinary flows of events. Modeling
of extraordinary flows of events. Identification of accidental regularities. Modeling of systems of
mass servicing with expectation. Modeling of systems of mass servicing with priorities. Modeling
of inventory management systems.
The expected results: As a result of studying of discipline students shall:
– to know standard classes of models and methods of modeling of difficult systems, the Monte
Carlo method device, the principles of creation of models of processes of functioning of difficult
systems, methods of formalization and algorithmization;
– to be able to use system approach in case of research, designing and operation of CSIPM, to
develop the modeling algorithms and to realize them with use of algorithmic languages and packets
of application programs of modeling, to automate process of designing using databases of
modeling;
– to have skills of development of simulation models of standard processes and systems of
information processing and management.
Post requisites: The acquired knowledge and skills will be used by students in case of degree
designing.
