2. Phonetically it is one long vowel [ɔ:]. This combination occurs before

read as [ɔ:]. For example: ought [ɔ:t]. 
The combination of ya 
There are two versions of the phonetic reading of this combination: 
1. Phonetically it is a combination of two sounds: consonant [j] + vowel [a:]. Hit the first vowel in the 
word combinations: yard [ja:d]. 
2. Phonetically it is a combination of two sounds: consonant [j] + vowel [ӕ]. It occurs in the word yap [jӕp]. 
The combination of ye 
Phonetically it is a combination of two sounds: consonant [j] + vowel [e] transferred one syllable. For 
instance, yellowish ['jelouiʃ]. 
The combination of yo 
There are two variants of phonetic reading of this combination: 
1. Phonetically it is a combination of two sounds: consonant [j] + vowel [a:]. Combination of unit occurs 
in the word yore [jo:] 'long ago'. 
2. Phonetically it is a combination of consonant [j] + diphthong [ou] transferred one syllable. The 
combination is rarely met in the word, for example: yokel, stress falls on the first vowel. 
Middle two-letter combinations 
In the text of the novel "The Forsyte Saga" are found following thirteen two-letter combinations of 
vowels in the middle of words ai, ea, ee, ia, ie, io, iu, oa, oi, ou, ua, ui, yo.
